My First Sewing Kit

While the children are in class, I plan to offer the moms to make My First Sewing Kit Box for her child as a token of encouragement and appreciation for their hard work making their first Sewing Project.

Materials

• 3 – 8.5x11” pieces of chipboard (I used theleftover backs of legal notebooks)

Fabric for Box:

• 2 – 9.5x13” (box top &bottom),
• 2 – 7x6.5” (box sides),
• 2 – 9.5x6.5” (box front and back)

Fabric for Pocket:

• 4- 5x9” for pocket,
• 4-5x4” for flap
• 8.5” inch piece of ¼” –wide elastic

Thread to match

1 Button with shank

small piece of thin ribbon

 
Tools:

• Sewing machine/ No Stitch Glue
• Scissors
• Water-Soluble Marker
• Pins and a needle
• Chopstick
• Ruler
• Box Cutter
